Eagle Lake Map of Area Overview Map

The diverse topographical environment of Eagle Lake has lent itself to a wide variety of plant and animal life. There are over 280 plant species including spectacular wild flowers and over 200 species of mammals, birds and amphibians in the basin. Bird watchers can enjoy the western grebe, osprey, white pelicans, swans, and the namesake of the land, the bald eagle. Deer, coyotes, squirrels, rabbits, racoons, and an occasional bear or mountain lion roam the basin.

The lake also boasts trophy fish, the Eagle Lake Trout. This species, a hybrid of rainbow and cutthroat, produces some fish weighing over 12 pounds.

The 15 mile reach of Eagle Lake, with the prevailing southwesterly afternoon and evening breezes, provide extraordinary sailing and windsurfing all summer long. The warm waters also accommodate a wide variety of water sports. Community services include two marinas, two general stores, two restaurants, two gas stations and a 4500 foot airstrip. The airstrip is only ten miles from the property.
A helicopter landing site is available on the estate grounds.
